Editorials: Make your own RPGs!!!

I know this isn't entirely Nintendo related, but it is really cool! For any of you out there who love RPGs and have always dreamed of making one, I'll tell you a couple programs to do it.(Sorry, PC only)

RPGToolkit

My personal favorite, this RPG Making program is entirely customizable from the character sprites to the items to the backgrounds in battles! The hardest part is scripting the actual game. You use a very cool programming language called RPGCode(explained very well in the manual) and make tons of seperate programs for what happens when a character does this or that. IT's hard, but you start to get the hang f it. Every sprite on the board is made by a 32x32 tile that you have to make right in the program. There is a dynamic lighting setting on the board editor to apply shadows and everything! That can even be changed with RPGCode programs while the game is running! So, you could have night and day in your game. Cool!!!!!!!! It comes with a demo game that you can play with and take apart, and is all around one of the best on the net.

Whichever version of this you choose, 95 or 2000, you still won't be able to customize sprites nearly as easily. I'm not sure you can at all! The very good point to this is that you barely have to learn any code at all to do it! It comes with sprites that look like they would be straight out of an SNES game, which is pretty good! There are also some sites(one listed below) with animations and tile sets for it, which is cool. If you don't have experience, and are just looking to have fun and make an RPG, then this is for you! If you want a more customizable and ultimately more fun gaming experience, go for RPGToolkit. Sorry, no screens of RPGMaker.
